House of Vine

The village of Kerasia where the HOUSE OF VINE is located stands 20 km southwest of the city of Heraklion. The house is next to the old church of Agios Georgios (17th century) in the village's heart. The village lies at the southeast foothills of mount Psiloritis in a 350meter height. In close vicinity to the villages Venerato, Avgeniki and Dafnes all located in a gracefull field where wineyards of distinguished varieties are cultivated. Hence many wineries exist producing excellent wines. Furthermore the expand olivegroves offers an abundance of famous cretan oil.
In a distance of 2km is the oldest Cretan nunnery (14th century) lavishly renovated.
The area around is ideal for walking through the old trails leading to nearby Byzantine country churches. The international hiking trail (E4) crossing next to the settlement leads to the organised shelter of the local mountaineering club (Prinos, 1200m altitude).
The lashed little gorge of Aghios Antonios is easily accessed.
Within a short distance of about 5 km is the archaeological site of Ancient Rizinia from the late Minoan period of 600 B.C. that flourished until the Hellenistic period of 67 B.C.

Access to a spacious citrus garden a breath away from the property for picnic hours.

This bright, cool, airy, spacious house of 80 sq.m. is suitable for couples, families with children.
The house consists:
-A breezy lounge with authentic furniture of the 50s.
- A connecting room with sofa where the wooden staircase leads to two bedrooms on
the floor with a modern bathroom.
-Each bedroom offers a double bed ( one sofa and is available in one of
them). The windows of the bedrooms overlook the village square. The one of the
bedrooms opens on the spacious terrace, shaded by the grapevine, with view to the
surroundings.
-On the ground floor there is an additional bedroom with twin beds.
- A spacious kitchen fully equipped with oven, fridge, microwave oven and kitchen
electric facilities such boiler and toaster. in the room a smart TV exists.
- A romantic shady yard with flowerpots where you can enjoy your coffee and your
dinner.
- A second bathroom is located in the yard.
- On terrace there are chairs and a bunch for enjoying the sunshine or the night calm .

The village of Kerassia offers a cafe and mini market but in the neighboroughing vilages (1.6km) there are super markets, bakeries, butcher’s, pastry shops, chemist’s, restaurants, cafes and tavernas where Cretan specialties and raki are served. Kerasia, the village where the house is located, is in the middle of Crete next to the highway connecting it to every direction you would like to visit.
