House in Kalterherberg with Terrace, Barbecue and Garden

The holiday house newly renovated in 2013 is right by the German-Belgian border outside of Kalterherberg, on the edge of the forest of the Hohes Venn nature reserve and near the Eifel National Park, in an absolutely quiet location.

The house provides around 130m² of living space and is suitable for up to 10 people. It has two bathrooms each with a shower and WC, four bedrooms with two and three beds, with modern satellite TV sets in two of the bedrooms which are walk-through rooms, a cot, a living room with satellite TV (107cm flatscreen) and a CD-radio, a kitchen with an oven, a big fridge with a freezer compartment, a microwave, toaster, coffee machine, kettle and dining table for 10 people. A soapstone stove exudes cosy warmth in the living room. You can purchase the wood by the basket from the owner.

In front of the house there is a sunny sitting area with garden furniture adn there is a big fenced garden, where dogs can run around freely. There are meadows, paddocks and boxes available on request for your own horses. Free wireless Internet access is available in the guesthouse right next door.

The nearest grocery shop, two bakeries and a butcher can be found in Kalterherberg 1km away. All other shops such as Lidl, Edeka, Real, Aldi or a pharmacy are in Imgenbroich 10km away. There is a lovely hiking path along the Rur as far as the historical town of Monschau, about a 1.5-hour walk. You can also cycle there along the new Ravell route, which is very flat, so you can easily cycle as far as Aachen or Sourbrodt. You can ride railbikes on the former Venn railtrack. The summer toboggan run in Rohren is about 8km away and the Hellenthal wild animal park is 20 minutes away by car.

    “Alles was gewoon aanwezig, een leuke bijzondere stad Monchau. Een fijn huis met omheining voor mijn honden. Een aardige gastheer die altijd voor je klaar staat. En omgeven in een prachtige natuur, wat wil je nog meer! Positiv: Alles is mij erg goed bevallen, het huis was erg netjes en gezellig!”

    “Ein tolles Haus mit allen Drum und Dran, in einer wunderschönen Landschaft. Tolle, freundliche und hilfsbereite Vermieter. Das Haus bietet alles für eine große Familie oder Gruppe. Die Küche ist vollständig ausgestattet und die Bettwäsche und Handtücher waren angenehm, was bei anderen Unterkünfte nicht immer der Fall ist.
    Gerne werden wir dieses Haus nochmals mieten.”
